One day, three speakers, and 130 young women in an event designed to encourage meaningful conversations about the future and the power of dreaming big.

The young women of Lindisfarne’s Years 10 and 11 came together at Osteria in Casuarina earlier this term to be inspired by women who have taken leaps of faith in pushing through boundaries to achieve their goals.

Marion Charlton, the Chief Operating Officer of Gold Coast Airport, Felicity Evans, the CEO of IMBIBE organic skincare, and electropop singer/songwriter Phoebe Starr were the guest speakers – telling the stories of their own life experiences in their chosen field.

Ms Kylie Wharton, teacher at Lindisfarne and the facilitator of Dare to Dream, says the program was built around the pillars of inspiration, aspiration and motivation.

“This is about helping our young women understand the limitless potential they have to pursue their dreams, even if they or others think it could be unachievable,” Kylie says.

“It’s okay to fail, that’s how we learn. But hard work and making your own opportunities is how you create a life of success.”
