Lindisfarne NETBALL CLUB

NetSetGo (5-6 year olds) Skills Development Program

NetSetGo is Netball Australia’s only junior entry netball program during which participants will develop fundamental movement skills in a fun and challenging environment. Each week will focus on learning a new skill during play-based structured activities with an emphasis on having fun. This skills program for beginner netballers runs on Saturdays for approximately 10 weeks. Information regarding season start dates and registration details will be advertised in the School Newsletter, on the Lindisfarne Netball Club Facebook page and on the Lindisfarne Website.

NetSetGo (7-8 year olds) Skills and Modified Competition

Participants will learn more specific skills such as throwing, passing and catching, player positions and roles, along with general rules of netball. They will be able to apply skills in more structured modified games. The emphasis of the U7-U8 Program is building competence and confidence in basic skills and movement challenges whilst developing a sense of team work. During netball season, skills training sessions will be held at the Sunshine Avenue Campus and games are played on Saturdays using modified netball rules. Scores are not kept so there are no finals. Court time and positions are evenly distributed within a team to allow player development. Information regarding season start dates and registration details will be advertised in the School Newsletter, on the Lindisfarne Netball Club Facebook page and on the Lindisfarne Website.

If a player has to miss a training session or game due to illness, please advise your coach/manager ASAP. Please familiarise yourself with the Lindisfarne Netball Club Group Facebook page and the Tweed Netball Association website and Facebook page as they are a great source of information for all netball.

Canteen Duty

All parents will be expected to help for a couple of hours during the season. You must be over 16 years and wear closed toe shoes. You must sign on at the office or the Lindisfarne Netball Club will incur a fine.

Coaches, Managers and Umpires

We cannot run a netball club without the generous support of volunteer parents and students. Please consider volunteering to be a coach, a team manager or an umpire. No previous experience is required and there are a number of development pathways and accreditation courses available. The Lindisfarne Netball Club has zero tolerance for umpire abuse. This includes casual comments from the sideline. Parents and players are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the rule book and appreciate that some umpires are beginners and all of them are human and sometimes make mistakes. Lindisfarne Netball Club Information.
